I’ll be definitely giving this a try! Working outdoors all Summer
plays havoc with my skin. Having just reached the big 40 I know
it’s more important than ever to protect your skin, especially
your face. Best of luck with the blog Selene, it’s fab,
I am such a beauty junkie, if I read about something good I usually
    can’t wait to try it!

    • Hi Lisa
Thanks so much. Im a lifelong product addict Lisa. Years ago I would love to hit the discount stores with a couple of punt and get the constance carroll make up and the rimmel black cherries lippie. Unfortunatly when I had more money to spend I always picked up things i seen advertised but more often that not felt dissapointed with the result. my reason for the blog is to give some background on skin and how it actually works. Also to hopefully demystify the science built up around products. Im glad you like the blog Lisa and if theres anything you would like me to talk about or review just let me know x

I like the sound of this one Selene! Other high factor sun protection has left me with a lot of sore, acne-like spots so I’m on the hunt for something new that will give me the protection I need without the horrible side effects!

  5. Came across your site by accident, but i think it might just solve my problem. A change in medication last year caused my face to get, what I’d call, a “heat rash” from the sun and heat , SO I’ve been scouting for a good cream to try. Looks like this might just be the one! Thanks.

    • Hi Veronica,
Your correct. There are medications out there that can cause sensitivity to the sun. The term is called photosensitivity. Always check with your GP if this is the case as you need to be very careful when outdoors.
However a condition called Rosacea is also exacerbated by UV light. Rosacea is blushing and flushing of the face and usually starts in the 30′s. It might be a good idea to check in with your GP to diagnose exactly what you have. There are a number of treatments for Rosacea but the most important is regular use of Sunfilter. A great source of information on skin disorders is This website has completly free patient information leaflets which can be viewed and downloaded

    Hi selene ,
I received my compact thank you so much this is a excellent product for number of reasons ,colour is quite good as im very pale , extremly easy to apply , stays on all day so all good . The product is not oily at all maybe more on the dryer side if anything so a good moist cream under neath is a plus .
Maybe you can reccomend a good hydrating cream for me ( possibly spots like heat rash ! age id say ) Thank you so much love your page .xx
